Last weekend, my husband and I were feeling a bit bored and in the mood for some live music. We decided to go for a stroll around uptown Cagayan De Oro City, hoping to find a place that could offer both great food and a good atmosphere. As luck would have it, we stumbled upon Bugsay Seafood Restaurant. Located at the back of SM Uptown in the Pueblo Business Park, Gran Via Cor. Pacific St., Upper Carmen, this place turned out to be a delightful surprise.
Acoustic Music
One of the highlights was the live acoustic music, especially the female singer performing from Thursday to Sunday nights in their alfresco area.Her voice was like the band MYMP, making the atmosphere calm but lively, perfect for our unplanned evening out.
Adding to the charm, the restaurant also offers guests a chance to perform, and my son took up the opportunity. He sang in front of the restaurant, and we were impressed by the quality of their sound system and microphones. It’s a great place for anyone with a good voice to showcase their talent, adding a personal touch to the dining experience.

During our visit, we opted for buttered chicken, pancit guisado (a popular choice), camaron rebosado, and for dessert, crème brûlée, halo halo. The service was efficient, with each dish arriving promptly and tasting wonderful, especially the pancit guisado. To complement our meal, we ordered a refreshing mango shake and coke in can. The serving sizes are just right, providing good value for the price.
